Vaccinations
I have been raising bostons for over 10 years, and have never had a case of parvo. I have used this protocol for the entire time, with some minor variation. The puppies begin weaning at 4 1/2 to 5 weeks of age, and then at 6 weeks of age, the puppies are given a 5 way vaccine. At the age of 9 weeks, the same 5 way vaccine is given. The puppies are then ready for their new family homes sometime after this second vaccination. I then recommend that the puppy be given it's adult booster at the age of 14-16 weeks old. I do not recommend the adult booster that contains Lepto (7 way vaccine). Boston Terriers can be subject to allergic reactions to this vaccine. Of course, please follow your veternarians recommendation.
Worming
As soon as the puppies eyes open, I worm them with Strongid. I then weekly, usually on Monday, I worm them again with Strongid until they are 6 weeks of age. At 6 weeks of age, I worm with liquid Panacur for 1 consecutive day. At 8-9 weeks, I worm with Panacur for 2-3 consecutive days.
Crate Training
I highly recommend crate training your puppy. He or she will already be started on this process. I am attaching a link to the puppy playpens that I use.
